As a servant "washing the feet of the saints"

Post by WeCryMercy on Sat Oct 30, 2010 11:32 am

I have been trying to understand the rule about FLOODING.

I don’t think I am doing that when I share a document that I wrote. You will have to let me know if I am breaking it.

I just felt like this needed to be shared here..

John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Ep 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

This truly has touched my heart.

Someone asked about “standing in the gap”. And honestly while I was posting on that subject. The picture of “JESUS washing the disciples feet” came to my mind, and how WE also should wash the feet of each other by sharing the WORD and being a helps, as a servant to one another.

So what was JESUS referring to when HE did this:

OUR most honored, precious, Almighty LORD, acting as a servant to HIS disciples and washing their feet. And outpouring of the Gospel of truth with LOVE and service to HIS body..

Water is “symbolic” of cleansing.. How is ONE cleansed by Water.

Because HE IS the LIVING WATER, HIS WORD sanctifies, convicts, and directs HIS body for service and Cleanses HIS BODY with joy, and ALL hope..

It was an awesome picture of how we truly should “SERVE” one another in LOVE.
.
Humbly, in Meekness, preferring one another above ourselves, pouring the WATER/WORD over the feet of the saints as servants of the LORD. Sharing the word in times of struggle and pain. Bringing HOPE, and guidance to one another from the heart "as servants to each other"

It is such a picture of our helps in preparing others to teach, share, to have “feet” shod with the Gospel of CHRIST.

The FULL gospel of service and love for HIS body.

IS this truly the attitude that we share with one another? LOVINGLY, caring for the hand the foot, our Body parts. Being a helps with the PURE word of GOD. Which is HIM.

I hope that somehow in my limited abilities I managed to capture it in some amount of fullness of HIS LOVE and how the LORD showed me in HIS merciful and as an example of HIS service, for it was truly a beautiful picture of love

communion:

The slightest hint of YOU brought me to my knees..AMEN

Great post!

This should speak volumes to the spirit of the body of Christ.
If one has not participated in a foot washing they are missing a true humbling experience which culminates with an inner peace and a focus that is indeed upon the Lord Jesus and His Love.

Thank you Donna.

I participated in a foot washing...only once. I didn't understand details that much back then, except that it was for us to help others.
You are helping me to see it more clearly. Thank you for this message.
Good Post!

Thank you, sister, for this beautiful portrayal of our precious Lord's sacrifice on our behalf and His example of how we should love & serve one another as His disciples.

Thank you for allowing me to "share".

So it is ok to SHARE things that I have shared with other forums?

IF you would allow me to say this. I know I am going to sound CRAZY now.

I looked for a place to share what the LORD had given me about "washing the saints feet" and the only slot I could find was under teaching.

I am not a teacher, but I often SHARE what experiences and understanding that the LORD has given me.

IF you have ever come across a truly anointed teacher, you could see the differences.. LOL

A real teacher can organize scripture to help us find truth with understanding. I can't do that. I can barly organize a thought.. LOL

Anyway, It would comfort me if you would just receive the things I "share" as something that is coming from my heart or personal experiences.

Maybe I am being too technical, but I was a bit uncomfortable all day about putting this under.. "TEACHING". as though I was professing TEACHING skills or anointing..

We are here to share God's Word, and our heart. I am glad you spoke of the washing feet ... I believe it has relevance.
I know that if there is anything that you may leave out .. someone will add to it.
That is what I think. I love you

This is a Good Post!
Yes, the Lord laid this upon our hearts years ago:)
We have done this to each other and felt led to do this
with certain others. I cant even put into words as to what this feels like and precious washing of anothers feet.
To me it is truly beautiful.

But the feet of the Lord's flock are indeed beautiful!

Post by sheepkinz on Sun Oct 31, 2010 3:34 pm

That would be awesome to do this..... I mean it, we dont care what your tosies/tootsies look like Vince, my brother.....u r funny!!!!

It is the VERY act itself that Jesus shown us in His example....
when your heart is in it. it is one of the most beautiful things Ive ever done.

A feeling of love as I poured forth the pitcher onto my husbands, brother, mother, and others peoples feet..O my word this love is the love of Jesus being poured out just as the pitcher of water upon the feet. He was pouring His love in me and in you:)
Yes Vince Jesus feet is beautiful for true....you reminded me of a verse again of late:

How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Isaiah 52:7 Amen!
